Would like to have computer’s current date and time automatically appear in a spreadsheet, in column A and on the next row, at each instance that a certain spreadsheet is (re)opened, and in the following format:
which will be understood by me as 2019 Feb 19th 1:15 PM. I will then manually input, into that dated row, my desired data in the cells of columns B, C, D and so on, then save the document and close Excel. When I next (re)open the spreadsheet (hours or days later), the then current date and time will automatically appear in column A on the next row. I will eventually graph my data (y axis) against the date/time (x axis), where the data points will be spaced irregularly in the x axis direction according to the date/time when the data was input into the speardsheet. Using Excel 2013 in Windows 10 Pro.
Though computer and Windows literate, I’m not even an Excel newbie (!), so your response should be step by step and in layman’s terms. As a retired academic physician who always freely answers friends’ and neighbors’ medical questions in detail, I very much appreciate your time and consideration in responding to me. Thank you.
