I don’t have much experience in Excel.

I wonder is there a utility that can sum a range of cells I  select with this function available as an option on the right click option list once the cells are highlighted – or something similar ?

Alternatively, I believe highlighted cells can be summed using the IF or SUMIF function. If I give the range as the entire worksheet (eg: A1: AZ500) and designate an empty cell in the headings row (eg: A5), could the sum of the cells I select  (hence highlighted) be displayed in the designated cell ? if so what would be the formula for this function ?

This will enable me to check the sum values on-the-go I as enter values in cells. Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks.
