ctrl+selecting rows is bringing everything in between

Hi Excelgeeks!

 

I’ve been having this issue for as long as I can remember, and the long work-around is getting tiresome, so…without being able to figure out how to appropriately word a google query to find the answer, I’m hoping you guys can give a hand.

 

When I ctrl+highlight rows on Excel, then paste that selection onto another spreadsheet or e-mail, it ends up c/p the entire section including everything between the rows I had highlighted. I don’t know if there is some setting in Excel that I need to change or what to do..any help is much appreciated!
