returning the colum name or heading of a minimum number

I have a row of numbers. I can use the MIN formula to tell me which is the minimum number but how do I get the formula to tell me which column the minimum number is in?

    Hi. Try this.

    Type the following to the relevant cells…

    A1: Col 1
    A2: Col 2
    A3: Col 3
    A4: Col 4

    B1: 7
    B2: 5
    B3: 9
    B4: 11

    Now the clever cell.

    Type =INDEX(A1:D1,MATCH(MIN(A2:D2),A2:D2,0)) into cell F2

    Now, as you change the values in B1 to B4 the column header of the lowest column will appear in cell F2.

    Hope this helps?

    Regards
    John
