Find Highest Number in a Range using Excel’s MAX Function

To quickly find the largest number in a range of cells you can use Microsoft Excel’s MAX Function that will quickly tell you the minimum number from a range of cells that you specify.

So let’s assume that your list of numbers are in cells A1 to cells A200. Excel’s MAX Function will allow us to quickly find the largest number from this range. Simply write your MAX function in another cell, B1 for example, and then hit enter.

For this example your MAX Function formula would be written like so:

=MAX(A1:A200)

You now have the largest number from that cell range!

You can also combine the MAX Function with the SUBTOTAL Function.

I hope you found this post on Excel’s MAX Function useful.
