Show Highest Number in a Range of Cells

A quick way to get and show the highest number in a range of cells, instead of using the  auto-max=MAX function, is to use the auto max button in excel.  All you do is click in the cell directly beneath the last cell in the range with numerical data (in the image this is cell E8). Then click the auto sum button, which looks like a 3 backwards.  Then select Max, and Excel will then automatically select the range for you, make sure the selection is correct, then hit enter!  The cell should now show the highest number in that range!  In this instance it is 8.
